Welcome to my blog! I’m Erin. I’m a lover of all things food; especially chocolate, breakfast, dinner salads, Sunday comfort food, smoothies, and birthday cakes. I have a degree in food science and worked for a number of years developing recipes. I now find joy making food for the people I love! To me, cooking is all about showing love and taking care of people.
Over the past few years, cooking has also become about healing my body. I follow a strict gluten-free diet because of celiac disease. After having additional food allergy testing done in September 2013, I also started eating dairy-free. I try to focus my diet on whole, unprocessed foods, including lots of vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, properly prepared legumes, a moderate amount of whole grains, and high quality meats. In a world with so many conflicting views on nutrition, I think it is about finding what works for your body. This is what works for mine!
Everyone knows someone with a food allergy. I also know everyone needs inspiration for dinner now and them. If you have dietary restrictions this can be particularly difficult. My goal is to share scrumptious things I’ve made to help make gluten-free life a little easier!
I live in San Diego, CA with my husband and toddler. They are my dutiful taste testers and dish do-ers! Neither one of them have food allergies (thank goodness!), but they both love eating all the naturally gluten-free food I make.
