This is a refreshing and delicious juice that I love to make when I need to get back on track. I know I ate one too many chocolate covered potato chips from Trader Joe’s over the holidays. They are my weakness, and I usually never let myself buy them for that reason!
I love drinking this juice for breakfast when I’m trying to detox and get back on track. It keeps me going for hours! I usually have green smoothies rather than juices, but sometimes it is nice to switch it up. I find drinking a green juice seems to give my digestive system a break, which I need now and then.
That being said I don’t like juices that taste too “green”, if you know what I mean. I just can’t do it! This juice, however, is delicious. I think squeezing fresh lemon juice into it before serving and being sure to pour it over lots of ice makes the difference. On days I’m trying to give my body a break and detox, I like drinking juices like this and lots of homemade bone broth. Juice this yummy is a delicious and energizing way to get back on track!
- 1 large bunch of kale
- 4 carrots
- 2 apples
- 2 lemons
- Process the kale, carrots, and apples through a juicer. Cut the lemons in half and squeeze them into the finished juice. (Processing the lemons in the juicer will cause the juice to be bitter.) Pour the juice over lots of ice to serve. Enjoy!
*I like Lacinato Kale best for this, but any kind will work!
